AGW ETIQUS GOLFER OF THE YEAR

It was once again a pleasure to join the Association of Golf Writers (AGW) at the wonderful links of Hoylake, the home of the Royal Liverpool Golf Club for their final event in this years 'Race to Liverpool' series.

The event was hosted by Bernie McGuire, Secretary of the AGW and amongst the competitors were Iain Carter, the BBC golf radio commentator and writer, and the highly respected golf correspondent of the Daily Mail, Derek Lawrenson.

Simon Newland from Royal Liverpool welcomed the AGW group of players on what was to be a challenging test of links golf especially as very strong winds swept across the golf course.

Freelance writer and publisher Rob Perkins, who had won the previous day in the AGW event at Delamere Forest, was able to sail past order of merit leaders David Facey and Neil McLeman over these last two events to secure victory as the AGW ETIQUS Golfer of the Year 2018.
